From October 7 to November 3, 2023, the GRAU sculpture Bonfire (2021) can be seen at the Kunsthaus Hamburg as part of the exhibition "Once In A Blue Moon". To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Kunsthaus, the exhibition rooms will be transformed into an immersive and interactive space with Bonfire at the center.

Bonfire was first exhibited at Bergen Kunsthall in Norway in 2021 and at the FRAC Champagne-Ardenne Museum in France in 2022. We are delighted that Bonfire is now also being shown in Hamburg for the first time.

The first people have already gathered around the Light the fire, told each other stories, celebrated rituals and lived community. Bonfire (2021) picks up on this ambivalent power of fire. We have translated the expressive beauty and social connection into a futuristic sculpture. In its vicinity, you are immersed in a holistic experience of light, as the installation's expressive light performance transforms the entire space. Feelings of closeness and warmth, but also of being overwhelmed, are activated during the performance of Bonfire (2021).
