A pendant light hangs close over the surface, illuminating it evenly. On many models, Beam Lens Technology manages light distribution, directing the light downwards in a controlled manner while keeping glare low—keeping screens free of reflections and eyes relaxed. Many pendant lights also emit an indirect light component upwards, which brightens the ceiling and softens contrasts within the room. Color temperature and brightness can be adjusted via Color Tune (2700–4000 Kelvin), with select models offering Warm Dim. Depending on the model, light output ranges from around 5,000 lumens (Flying) to over 10,000 lumens (Team Suspension), with high color rendering of CRI 90+ that shows documents, samples, and materials in true colors.

As a rule of thumb, the lower edge of the luminaire hangs about 60 to 70 cm above the tabletop—high enough not to obstruct your line of sight, low enough to provide focused light. Above individual desks, a compact pendant light is usually sufficient, while above long tables, several lights arranged in a row or a continuous line of light ensure even brightness without any dark spots. Pay attention to the light distribution: a narrow beam angle for focused task lighting, and an additional indirect light component if you want the room to feel softer. For multiple workstations under a single light, a model with higher lumen output or combining it with individual task lights for each desk is worth considering.
