Alien transforms a 15-million-year-old event into a contemporary product experience. The lamp’s sculptural glass is based of high-resolution 3D scans of an actual moldavite tektite, remnants of a meteorite impact in what is now southern Germany. This relic of extraterrestrial energy forms the core of Alien – a vitreous light body both eerily organic and precisely crafted.

About the Artist
Yngve Holen, born in 1982, is a Norwegian-German sculptor known for his work on the material interfaces of humans, objects, technology, and consumer culture. Holen creates sculptures that explore the systems and anxieties of our social reality. He is represented by Galerie Neu in Berlin and Modern Art in London and lives and works in Oslo and Berlin
